Slumbertime Tea Blend

March 09, 2025 in Tea Recipes

Another medicinal blend of tea to support a good night's sleep. Why, you ask? Just because a herb is good for promoting sleep, doesn’t mean it will be good for you or work for you! Each and every person is different, therefore, different formulations are needed to support different bedtime needs. While there are some herbs that are the same within this formula, there are others which are completely different.

This tea was blended to assist the body in releasing nervous tension, help you wind down from over-excitement, decrease mental chatter and stress in preparation for a peaceful sleep.

The herbs in this blend are indicated for the following:

  • Hops: sleeplessness, pain or twitching, nervous strain, insomnia, suitable for people with intense personalities and over-exertion leading to mental exhaustion, nervousness and worry

  • Lemon Balm: insomnia, anxiety, panic attacks, nervousness

  • Passionflower: spasms, nervous overstimulation, excessive thinking, non-stop mind chatter

  • Chamomile: mental and physical tension, spasm, overstimulation, impatience, angry disposition, nightmares or night terrors

  • Lavender: muscular and nervous tension, headaches, spasm, those who suffer from overwork, mind too active to sleep

Directions: Use 1-2 tbsp of loose tea per cup of water. Steep covered up to 20 minutes, strain and enjoy. Sweeten as needed.

Recipe:

1 Cup Lemon Balm (Melissa Officinalis)

1 Cup Passionflower (Passiflora Incarnata)

1/2 Cup Hops (Humulus Lupulus)

1/2 Cup (Lavendula Angustifolia)

1/2 Cup Chamomile (Chamomilla Recutita)
